Gaslight Productions Wins The Robert G. Kemp Award

This past June the BMFA was proud to announce that Gaslight Community Theatre Productions is the winner of the 21st Annual Robert G. Kemp Arts Award. A cash prize of $5,000 was awarded.

Gaslight was selected for its efforts to create innovative and intimate amateur community theatre experiences of high artistic quality.

The intent of this Arts Award is to celebrate Robert’s love of the South Georgian Bay area by encouraging and recognizing a local group or individual for an arts related project that will benefit our local region.

A formal presentation was made at the BMFA Annual General Meeting held October 24th.

Congratulations on the merit of your project! Best wishes for a successful theatre season!

Gaslight Tour 2013 - "Launching A Legacy"

Gaslight Community Theatre Productions is pleased to announce the return of Gaslight Tour, November 7 – 10.

This year’s exciting theme: Launching a Legacy,  captures  the spirit and tradition of shipbuilding with stories about life in the shipyard and the Great Storm of 1913,the White Hurricane, the worst storm in Great Lakes history.  Despite the closure of the Collingwood Shipyards in 1986, its history continues to live on in Collingwood’s collective memory.

An Introduction to This Year’s Tour: Simcoe Street Exhibition

The Collingwood Museum and Gaslight Community Theatre Productions invite you to explore the stories, histories, captivating photographs and never before exhibited artifacts from the Collingwood Museum’s collection as you reflect on the trials and successes that defined the Yard’s 103 year history, and inspired this year’s successful playwrights.  This free exhibition will be featured in

The Press Gallery, 65 Simcoe Street, from September 21st-November 2013.
